I have recently learned that the OECD report on education has been published. I find publicly available and verifiable reports based on detailed statistics very important and I was more than happy that OECD report was freely available as a PDF document and all the numbers and charts were also linked to freely available spreadsheet documents.

According to the report web site:

The 2010 edition of Education at a Glance: OECD Indicators enables countries to see themselves in the light of other countries? performance. It provides a rich, comparable and up-to-date array of indicators on systems and represents the consensus of professional thinking on how to measure the current state of education internationally.

The indicators show who participates in education, how much is spent on it and how education systems operate. They also illustrate a wide range of educational outcomes, comparing, for example, student performance in key subject areas and the impact of education on earnings and on adults? chances of employment.

Below you can see few key education performance indicators which also give an idea about the recent educational performance of Turkey:

Population that has attained tertiary education

Population that has attained at least upper secondary education

Upper secondary graduation rates
